You can not obtain a visa inside Thailand for your situation but you seem to have the option to obtain one year extensions of stay for either work or Thai wife. For work it would require meeting the income requirement for your nationality and employment paperwork. For Thai wife it would require 400k in your name in bank two months or proof of 40k per month income and wife and marriage paperwork.

Read threads about extensions of stay for more details and decide which is right for you (marriage or job likely to be longer term is one consideration).

It depends a bit on if doing for wife or employment - most will prefer wife if have the choice as a loss/change in employment would not end the extension of stay and company could not put pressure on you for that reason.

You have a non immigrant entry with 30 days or less remaining. You have proof of income over 40k per month - believe tax receipts for last three months is requirement. You and wife visit the immigration office serving your area with passport/arrival card/her ID card/her home register/marriage certificate/ledger entry of marriage certificate with signed copies. Have photos together in front of home with number visible, in living room and bedroom and of closet with both clothing together (not always same requirement but should cover most requests), sketch map to home and TM.7 form with 4x6cm photo taken within last six months and 1,900 baht. You receive a stamp for 30 days while it is reviewed in Bangkok and when return normally get the one year extension of stay. At that time you may want to obtain a re-entry permit for 1,000 baht as any departure without one will end the extension of stay so it is insurance and can be used for any planned travel as well.

For getting an extension of stay for 1 year it might make a difference. Worst case is that immigration will want you to get a non-O visa from a neighboring country, which isn't hard to get.

But it depends on where you apply. So apply early and find out.
