I have a Non-Imm-o Multiple Entry based on my marriage to my Thai wife. I am planning to get a job teaching English.

1. Can I get a work permit with this visa?

2. If I have to get some kind work visa, will that terminate my Non-imm-o?

Also, I am looking at a 6 month contact how would this factor in?

You can obtain a work permit on an Non O provided there is no stamp saying "Work Prohibited" across the O visa

If you have to obtain a Non B instead this will replace your Non O

I have not seen a Non-O visa issued with a "work prohibited" stamp. What is usually stamped beneath such visas is wording "No extension of stay". That does not prevent the issue of a WP. But there have been reports of some labour offices refusing to issue WP against Non-O visa, requiring new Non-B visa to be obtained, even though the rules say differently.

If you mean working on a off-shore platform in Thailand then the answer is YES you need a WP.

The platforms are in Thai territorial waters and therefore the Thai law applies to them.

Normally the company who hires you will organize the WP for you.
