Was The Moon Responsible For The Latest Earthquake?

Featured Replies

It's not a conspiracy theory <deleted>, it's just a theory. A logical (albeit unproven) one at that.

How can it be a conspiracy theory? How can the moon possibly conspire?

They don't get the Daily Mail in Japan............ Bet they wish they did

Being the Daily Mail, it's probably the immigrants fault anyway.

Quote from the link:

'Earth will experience just a lower than usual low tide and a higher than usual high tide around the time of the event, but nothing to get excited about.'

I witnessed a fairly high tide today from Japan on CNN. Technically he was correct...except for that getting excited part.

"The moon's orbit around Earth is not a circle, but an eclipse. At its closest approach - the perigee - the moon appears brighter and larger in the sky. When it is furthest away - the apogee - it is smaller and dimmer."

Ellipse?

sounds lunar or was it looney to me

Some learned fellow? noted that the earthquake was responsible for the earths axis shifting 10 cm.

Michio Kaku is one of my idols, along with Einstein and Hawking. Not as naturally brilliant (not quite, but he is way up there), but he makes up for that with personality and pragmatism.

Glad you contributed the name of the man. I am terrible in that department. What impressed me, is he made no dire prediction as a result of the shift. I have not found the entire content of his findings nor any predictions, which should make for interesting readings.

I've got a lot of time for him as well.

His "parallel universes" documentary is mind blowing, it can be found on youtube.

I first saw him on his doco on time. Since them there have been a number of fascinating docos presented by him.
