Ipstar Changes Access Rates

Featured Replies

You will be happy to hear that effective 1 October my 5,000 baht a month access at 512/128 with a IO limit of 1.5GB of access is changing to

are you ready?

get this!!

UNLIMITED TRAFFIC!

for those wishing to know how this will affect them, go to this site and go to the bottom of the page where you will see the ipstar satellite (click the "learn more button"). It is here that I have posted the letter by them, until such time as the new prices are posted. This is not intended as a spam but rather a way of informing the forum.

Wow, totally unheard of. Actually just increasing the limits to something bearable (like 5-10GB) would have been enough. Will the ultimate result be performance degradation, similar to what happened to Thailand's ADSL system?

is it going to be cheaper too?

I'm perplexed. Where do they come up with the new rates. Who do they hire to do the math? Is is unlimited traffic or what?

Take a look at the link. As little as 3,000 baht for slower speeds!

There will be some other plans available for 1,500 Baht per month later in the year, but, they will amount to slow speed connections and only available for first-time customers. Actually what they are providing is quite reasonable; in my case I will go from being limited at 1.5GB per month at 512/128 kbps to unlimited at the same speed.

I am happy!
