Hi,

I was thinking that this subject has been covered on another post already, but cannot find it anymore, sorry if answers have already been provided.

I need to do a 30 day visa run (something that I haven't done for a long time).

I'm planning to fly in the morning from BKK to Udon Thani, and come back in the evening (seems you can do this with Nok Air).

And during the day, going to the Laos border.

Once I'm out of Thailand, do I need to enter Laos in order to get my 30 days visa when I come back in Thailand, or can I just do some shopping in duty free shops, and come back, without entering Laos ?

Another question: have this part of the country been hit by floods ? (road between Udon and border is ok ?)

Thanks

I'm 99% certain you actually have to enter and exit the second country before thai immigration will give you an entry stamp.

Otherwise you would be able to walk out of Thailand across the bridge at Poipet and re-enter without shelling out 1k for the Cambodia visa.

Make that 100%.

On a land border you will not be allowed to re-enter Thailand without an

exit stamp from the other country. The Immigration officer WILL check.

If you fly, say to Hongkong, that is a different matter.

No need to enter there. Just turn round and come back.

Tried that once :o they check for the other countrys stamps so to answer your question you do need to enter the other country.

:D
