Minimum Wait 2nd Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hey all. My gf in oz now and we are havin an awesome time unfortunately her time is up (3 month tourist visa) and she has to go back. Has anyone reapplied for a second tourist visa straight away? If so how did you go? Also what other visa options are available. Im not to keen on prospective marriage visa just yet, not ritch enough for a student visa and from the looks of it Thais aint eligible for a Working Holiday Visa.

I rang the Dept of Immigration in Melbourne to ask the same question

They said she could arrive back in Thailand and on the same day re apply for the next visa

There is no wait time between applications

Its just a bitch that you have to pay for another flight

next time ask for a six month visa

good luck

There is a new working holiday deal for Thai's up to 30 years but they must have a university degree. Can work for up to 3 months for each employer over a one year period.

You sure about this Pat? I cant find a listing about it on any department website.

Any hint where i can get info on this?

It was a bilateral agreement between Thailand and Australia coming out of the TAFTA. I saw it in the press but haven't seen it in any other form as yet. The Oz Embassy might have something by now.

I rang the Visa Application Centre and asked about it. They know about it but said it isnt an option yet and dont know when it will come thru. Il try ring the embassy directly on Monday and ask them. Would be a great visa to get. Only 10 days to process and allowing a stay of 12 months.

Thanks guys

This is the anouncement, it says it is in effect when the legals have been completed on both sides, so any year now :o .

I found a media release which saids it is in effect as of 31 August. Looks like its pretty well stitched up thou and the criteria is very stricked. Maybe plenty of Ausies goin to Thai on this visa but not the other way around. How many of the guys on here have girls with a diploma!!!
