scorpio1945 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Anyone seen corn meal (not flour) or corn bread mix for sale. Wanted to make some jalapeño cornbread and was surprised that even the new Tops did not have, or I couldn't' find it.
DonaldBattles Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 You can buy corn meal at Foodland stores in Bangkok as we supply to them. To my knowledge I am the only producer of corn meal in Thailand. You can buy it also in my deli in Chiang Rai. For our steak barbecue buffet last week we made jalapeno cornbread using our own meal and jalapenos and it is great. We also sell jalapenos and Mexican pepper sauces to Foodland.

Next time I'm in town, I'll be bringing the SUV with some cool boxes for a little bit of shopping.
extexthai Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I can get corn meal in Phayao...yes it is available. And there is a baking store in CR right on the super highway (left side going north) at the intersection of the road that goes back toward the southeast. The one you take to go to the ostrich farm. It is diagonally across from the gas station. I have been making cornbread for dressing using a dutch oven outside, as I do not yet have an oven for the house. That store has all kinds of things, baking related. Happy baking....ett

Sent you a PM but haven't heard back. Went to your place to buy some corn meal. Was informed that it was not available as it all is sent to Bangkok except what is used for cooking. The nice lady let me have a little to get by. Let me/us know when available.
