26 Years now from the begin of Cable TV in Thailand.

until now unsophisticated industry and Dangerous installation are on place.

I know almost every one in this industry, if you have any question and any request that I can be help for you, do not hesitate to post your question.

Why is the choice of channels so poor and the price so expensive compared to say Viet Nam which hs a better cable service than TrueVisions provides in Thailand?

Or True Satellite vs. Astro Satellite Malaysia for that reason. Astro has miles better program content and picture quality, and much lower price.

Anyone knows?

I think you need to be much more explicit in your question.

There are many "cable" tv networks around Thailand.

Each little locality has its own set up, usually with the channels that the locals like,

not much use to farangs, unless you live in farang oriented area like Pattaya, for example.

Then there is the TRUE Tv network provided by fibre optic in Bangkok.

Lastly there is the TRUE satellite network.

Which one is upseting you??

AFAIK cable TV has not been available for more than about 15 years. Previous 'cable' was private UHF transmissions of about a dozen channels until the telephone line expansion of the mid 1990's allowed analog cable to be installed (in Bangkok only what is now called True had permission to do so) and price was kept extremely high (and loss was yearly as had few customers at the high costs to consumer and for programing). As there was no competition not much happened/improved for many years. There are now many small cable systems serving various markets - mostly using the normal OTA stations and now internet stations as well as free or low cost SAT services. That as we move into the on-demand internet world Thailand is almost getting cable up.
