Hotel Recommendations

Featured Replies

Hi Board Members,

The good lady and I will be heading to BKK (from Khonkaen) for a UK visa Monday 17th October. Rather than sit around in the smog for three or four days, I thought I would be nice to hop across to Samui for four nights or so. Could any members recommend a nice hotel on Chaweng or Lamai beaches? We would be looking at chilling out on the beach, good Thai food and a couple of beers for her old man. Anything up to the 7000 baht/night mark would be acceptable. Also would it be wise to book up prior to arrival? I have no feel for availability at all.

Thanks in advance

Paul and Supattra

Central Samui Beach Resort[/url]Central Beach Resort in Chaweng would be a good choice.

Book in advance online at Central Samui Beach Resort.

Thanks Limbos,

Unfortunately no rooms available of the dates I wanted.

I’ve managed to book the Amari Palm Reef Resort. Hope I’ve made a wise decision?

Cheers

Paul

Yep, good choice.

Hi Paul,

going in dec, should be on samui around dec 8. wondering how you found amari? we looked at the central too, and loved it except the pool is closed for renovations while we're there.

Thanks alot,

Chris & Mira

very rarely have anyone say anything good about the central ( very over-priced,small rooms etc), so a lucky miss there!!

palm Reef is nice , but the beach there is not so good and the sea very shallow....very nice pool though.

Pompeynick,

Don't know where you're coming from but Central has been highly rated by many people I know, incl. my sister and parents.

Fantastic setting, good service, nice rooms, best children programs (any other hotels have them at all?) and perfect location.

Best deal to get in Chawenf IMHO if you're not on a budget.

only reporting what customers have said Limbos..

Try Rocky Resort at the South end of Lamai - PM me if you need more info :o

Fair enough Nick,

Same as I'm doing. Haven't heard a negative thing about them yet.

I can highly recommend Fair House Beach Resort & Hotel ( @ Chaweng Noi)

Perfect location with private beach, 2 swimming pools, 2 restaurants ( free massive breakfast buffet), bar, Sala Thai with massage, 3/9 par golf course etc.

If you don't want to walk to the beach, restaurant or swimming pool from reception there're electric mini taxis free of charge ( with driver!).

What else do you need to enjoy 4 lazy night in Samui...!

Go to http://www.fairhousesamui.com/

You can call and check the price or just book it online.

I'm very sure it will be less and less than 7000 Baht . Thinking about half of it.

As far as I know they still have low season rates.

It's only 3-5 minutes drive to the heart of Chaweng Beach.

Most of my friends seeking privacy and good service always stay there.

If you happy with it have one beer for me.

Cheers!

Hi Chris and Maria,

I would go to the Amari again. Great room, service and staff. Hotel evening entertainment was good and very relaxing during the day. Not to far away from the night life should you want it.

Enjoy

Paul
