Changing Passports And Entering Thailand

Featured Replies

My passport is five years old and the photo is 45 kg ago.

I have gone home for a few weeks to the UK and had a nightmare getting out of Dong Maung (face recognition software) so whilst I am here I would like to change it whilst I am here.

Now this poses a problem - I have an extension which is valid until 17th November and re-entry permit for the extension and it will be re-extended for another year on the 17th.

I don't want to get a new visa and would like to re-enter the country keeping the same visa extension etc.

How do I do this?

I would advise getting the new passport after you return to Thailand if you do not want a new visa entry but perhaps someone can provide a firm answer as to immigration accepting a re-entry permit in an old passport. I suspect if the software does not get you the re-entry permit might.
