Hi Everyone, I am back again for some more great info :o I am married to a Thai Lady and we have a daughter, our daughter has a Thai passport and she now has a British Birth Certificate and British Passport. We are at the moment trying for my wifes settlement visa, she has not visited the U.K. before as I have been in Thailand for the last 2 years. If we encounter any problems with getting her visa I will be taking my daughter to the U.K. and then reapplying for the wifes settlement visa as her daughter will then be living in the U.K. What I want to know is when I take my daughter to England when I go through Bangkok airport which passport do I show for her, if I she goes on her Thai passport what happens when we arrive in the U.K. Do I then show her British passport which will not have any stamps in showing where she has come from. If my daughter leaves Thailand on her British Passport will she be classed as being on overstay because there are no visa's in it. How does it work and what should I do as she has paperwork showing 2 nationalities lol...Help me please I am a little confused. Thanks in advance. From Frazer.

No one really cares about stamp trails any more. You should do a search on the site as this has been described often.

Basic proceedure.

In Thailand

Get to check in - show both Thai and UK passports to airline check in people. UK passport shows that your daughter has the right to enter the UK without a visa. Thai passport shows she will need a departure card.

Fill out departure card.

Go through Thai immigration ONLY showing the Thai passport. Get stamped out on that. Immigration will staple a corresponding arrivals card to fill in when she returns. DON'T LOSE IT

In the UK

Walk through EU line, flash British passport and she is in.

Returning to Thailand

Check in as normal in the UK. No immigration checks on departure.

On arrival in BKK, fill out the arrivals card which has been stapled into the daughters Thai PP. Show the Thai PP and get stamped in.

SORTED.

Thanks samran, I know somethings can be simple but also they can have nasty twists when you least expect lol. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't one missing piece of paperwork before I actually tried to depart. Anyway looks pretty straight forward and it's off to Cambodia tomorrow for what could be the last time for a while. Thanks again from Frazer.
