Hello,

I readed on internet that people who stay longer than 1yr in Thailand with non-immigrant visas can import cars with low taxs and duties. Is that right ?

I would like to import a car that it's not mine, would i get an exoneration or not ?

Sadly your source is mis-informed :(

Try a forum search, lots of threads.

In a nutshell, forget it :(

Import duties and tax are punitive (250-300% of perceived value) and if the vehicle is remotely attractive it will get stuck in customs on a technicality and lost forever.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

That's bad. Anyway i saw some good tax reductions for old cars up to 10 yrs and 70%. Anyone have an online calculator to check how much it would cost me to import an "old" car ? Prices in Thailand are prohibitive.

They make their own rules, no law. Sell it and be happy it has a good home. :D
