THAIPHUKET Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Trying to get the best for me out of my new HTC DesireZ, slow process, my fault. Searched for TO Do List, got 5 mm returns, totally overwhelmed. Tried Evernote, not optimal, too complex. I need the most simple program which doesn't need separate opening or switching to other screens. Should show on the home screen just my Buzz words as soon as I activate the phone, e.g.= Andreas ( meaning call Andreas ) insurance ( means call..) teeth ( cleaning teeth) No dead lines , no hours , just naked. My brain can handle this much still alright. Easy to up date So speak a simple laundry list. open when the screen lits up. I forget what I don't see!! Possible?
THAIPHUKET Posted July 3, 2011 Author Posted July 3, 2011 Seems to have all what I wanted, thanks at lot!
THAIPHUKET Posted July 3, 2011 Author Posted July 3, 2011 hmm, on my HTC DesireZ I opened to do list widget in the browser but when I try the install button only ' Javascript = void , bookmark link" appears Had this before on other apps too but didn't bother to look deeper but now I want to know what's wrong??

Install it from your PC using the link I provided. Or install it from the Android Market application that came with your HTC. You would have to do a search for 'ToDo List Widget' in the Android Market application on the phone, as it does not use URLs. Don't try to install it from your browser on the HTC! Below is a video on how you can install an Android Market application directly from your PC. The application is sent over the air to your phone. It works great! I've done it many times with no problem. Sometimes there's a delay of a couple of minutes after you click install before you see the download icon appear in the notification area on the phone. You really need to use a Wifi or 3G connection with your phone for the internet connection. A 2G connection would be slow. Just make sure that you sign into Android Market on your PC with your Google account used on the phone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evAiHzNPEgw
lomatopo Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Wow, that's pretty cool. I didn't realize you could download Android apps on a PC from the market to your phone if your phone was connected via WiFi/LAN. (I knew you could do this OTA, 2G/3G, but I never waste my 2G/3G connection on market apps/updates, preferring to do that via WiF. To the OP, do you have an Android Market account? Are you logged in? Can you see the ToDo List Widget/Chris Baily in the Market? Can you download it? Have you ever downloaded an app. from the Market? I'd also recommend a QR code reader app. Often developers have the QR code on their web-page, you simply use the camera to scan the QR code and the app downloads.
BB1950 Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I also highly recommend a QR code reader app (QR Droid Private is what I use). I've tried others and they had problems scanning the QR code, especially from a monitor screen. The QR Droid Private app has always worked great for me.
Phil Conners Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Goto google.com on your mobile. On the top you have a row of tabs - the rightmost says "more" - click it - then click apps - then Tasks -> that's your Google tasks as you use it in Gmail tasks. Don't even have to install an app for it.

I need the most simple program which doesn't need separate opening or switching to other screens. Should show on the home screen just my Buzz words as soon as I activate the phone.... [snip] . I forget what I don't see!! Hence a widget app!
THAIPHUKET Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 Wrestling now with the problem that my google account doesn't recognize my DesireZ. All hints by google don't work either.

lomatopo Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Wrestling now with the problem that my google account doesn't recognize my DesireZ. All hints by google don't work either. To do list: 1.) Get a Google Mail account. 2.) Test your Google Mail account, by logging in on a PC. 3.) On your Android phone click on the Market, sign in using your Gmail username and password, accept the EULA 4.) Search for, then download the ToDo widget.
THAIPHUKET Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Lomatopo, thanks for your patience. I overlooked 1 crucial sentence in your first description= IT MAY TAKE SERVAL MINUTES BEFORE THE DOWNLOAD SHOWS!! Gosh, you were so right, because the ToDoList widget was indeed already in my apps, I hadn't noticed the download!
THAIPHUKET Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 WELL, I failed.....the IQ test. After installation I see only abstract boxes, can change colors, the only concret thing are numbers which equal the print size. Menu doesn't do anthing. Long press neither. Nowhere to enter anything. Anyone else tried it?
Phil Conners Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 That "abstract" page allows you to setup the widget in (too much) detail. When done click the box on the top-left and you will get a page where you can set which widget you want to use. I tried it but didn't like it so removed it again. I prefer Gtasks which links in with Google Tasks.
lomatopo Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Paraphrasing that old Chinese proverb; You should learn how to fish... http://chris.bailey.name/application/todo-list-widget

I am using the Barcode Reader for .NET to scan barcode , including qr code and other barcode images. It's easy to install and control!
