I Was Burgled

Featured Replies

Was that a bit harsh?!

Uncharacteristically tolerant. But understandable given the circumstances.

Best wishes.

Agreed.

Are you feeling a bit more chilled out now Pats?

Pats so sorry to hear about this

But even more sorry there is such a post by that 12whoever on this thread.

Wish I had seen this thread earlier and taken care of that horrid post

But seems our fellow members have taken care of it

I've had things stolen (pickpocketed, grab bag, jackets and such from pubs) but the worse was when I had my bag snatched from my arm. I felt the guy next to me, turned to look. By then he had grabbed it and ran off. I ran after him

We do things that could be foolish in hindsight. Learnt later that he cut the strap off my arm with a tiny blade....

My point. Oops. Basically just trying to say don't let it get to you. After my incident I walked around clutching my bag closer to me for quite sometime. But after a while I decided I just have to live my life the normal way and not let the bad people change my life.

Big hug to you pats.

I find myself looking at people with cameras, thinking it might be mine!!!

I'm more angry at myself for leaving the windows open - shise it was 32 degrees that day!! I've lived here for almost six years and never had a problem. But, most of my neighbours are away on holiday so the building is basically empty.

It's just the fact that someone came in, not invited, and went through my personal stuff.

Getting over it, slowly. It could have been worse - I could have been here and been attacked or something like that.
