When paying off finance early (after 32 months of a 60 month agreement) should we expect any rebate / discount from the finance company (Tisco) and also how long should it be before we receive the blue book.

Thanks,

Tas

Paid off finance about 2 years early on a vehicle, Thannachart were the finance co, no discount but stands you in good stead for future finance with same co.

I've always received a 50% discount on the remaining interest (rarely keep my cars longer than 2 year) - but I do make a point of that at contract signing time, so it could be one of those negotiable extras..

My wife paid off her 36-month TISCO loan after 18 months but it made no difference as it was an interest free loan. TISCO's policy is to charge half the remaining interest as 'Katabeachbum' referred to. When the balance is cleared, TISCO post (EMS takes one working day) the paperwork to be signed and a final payment (transfer charge), I think 1200, you post the signed documents back with two signed copies of your ID card (or passport and WP or equivalent if you're a foreigner), and within a week TISCO post the car book via recorded mail.

The only thing you have to watch out for is predatory lending offers which TISCO send thereafter - but in fairness that warning applies to all other banks in LOS and probably around the world too.
