hi everybody

please can any one give me information regarding bringing my thai thai wife to the uk legally on a visitors visa . i have known her for 10 months and we married last month :o i work in thailand and live here full time. my wife works for me at the hotel but she does not have any pay slips or money every month going in her bank as we use the company bank. what paper work do i need to get to give to the uk embassy. i only want to take her for a 2 week trip to see my mum and dad at xmas time. money in the bank is no problem and my mum has sent a leter saying that she will take care of her. and on section one of the non settlement form (vaf1 2004) it asks is she is a visitor or a family visitor now we are married is she a family visitor ?. thanks for any help :D

Yes, your wife will be considered to be a family visitor.

Your wife will have to show the visa officer that she has a good reason to return to Thailand, and her best proof of this, as you are working in Thailand, is you. Support her application with evidence of your employment and immigration status in Thailand, and it should be a relatively straightforward process. You also still need to enclose your bank statements, marriage certificate, letter from your mother etc.

tuk tuk, just got got my wife back to england on a family visitor visa, just take as much paper work as you can, we had loads they want to see if your serious. take copys of your passport, any bank info ,payslips, a letter of support from you will help, out lineing the reason for visit where you will stay and for how long ect. good luck, oh and take no notice of the visa scouts, if they aint got an embassey badge take no notice.
