The raging Baht Bus controversy spurred this poll on. :o So what is everyone's favourite mode of transport when in Patters or for those that live there?

Mine - baht bus or moped taxi. :D

Baht bus for me Brit.

Can't do the moped Taxi's, ever since they made us wear helmets..........................it messes up my hair you see :o:D

vote "car" na ja

no car = no legs ... cant go ..and feel uncomfy

(ok im not a good driver , and my car is pity...prefer to go there by my dad or sis's car :D:D )

but for take a look around ... i need my ducky feet for cat walk :D ..i just went to patter around 10 days ago .. had fun (with food..and teased guy...opps dont tell my mommy and daddy :o..ok i went there with my parents )

ps.. they always say ..bambi .. u suck ... move your @rse to passenger seat ..and be nice .. u can sleep .. we dont mind ...whats a ridiculous!! :D

If practical, I'll force myself to walk if there's no time constraints, anything to get some exercise, :o

Hmmmm bottle of chang to mouth doesn't count? :o

If I have a lot of nipping around to do during the day especially off the baht Bus route I'll usually take a moto taxi for a few hours. Most of my regular lads on Buakhao seem happy enough to whizz me around for 100 - 150B an hour.

At night my usual circuit is Buakhao - Soi 7/8 by motor bike and then down to South Pattaya/Walking St by baht bus.

It all seems to work well for me.

My only gripe is when Baht Bus drivers get arsey over the fare and trying to work out just which route they are suppose to be plying!!

Baht bus, then my own 2 legs most of the time. but when out exploring usually hire a car and driver.

Moped...

currently buzzing around at over 30.000km/year.

Accident free the last 14 years of permanently living and moped driving here. Apart from one time where I drove into a drainhole without cover (stolen).

Being drunk didn't help either there I guess.

I'm at least between 1 and 1.5 hours a day on the bike, mostly going up and down between Jomtien and Naklua. If I would do that by car I would spend probably 4 hours a day stuck in traffic. Simply not practical...

If alone motorcycles, but with the family by car for sure. I know the traffic and parking is a serious problem so I try to stay in one place as long as possible. :o

Car or pickup,

all time, everywere. If in future I can't use a car because lack of money or gasoline I 'll kill myself.

Forgot to say, I also take the car to the nearby stadion for my daily 10 Km run :o

Patex

Car for me.

I like to be somewhat in control of my destiny.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

I like to be the 3rd or 4th passenger on a moto (more padding and protection in the event of an accident) ! :o

My house, which I move into next April, is located near the east end of Nern Plubwarn. What mode of transportation is available around there (other than my own vehicle, that is)?

Are there baht bus routes?

If so, where do they go?

Does anything go out Siam Country Club Road toward the Reservoir?

George

Patsfangr,

I can't recall seeing much of public transport on Soi Nern Plub Waan, apart from the motorbike taxi's.

On Siam Country club road you have Song Teaws (like the Bahtbuses, but different color, green/red). They do the circuit from Sukhumvit all the way up to the lake and the down again to Sukhumvit Naklua...

Guess living over there you'll really need own transportation...

Car, although will use motocy taxis if I know it is going to be a heavy evening... :o
