Aftermarket Body Kits

Featured Replies

I just spotted a superb looking car on red plates. What was it. .?. A Toyota Altis. Now that got me wondering, do designers ever leave the Studio, to se what folks like. If the so called New Altis looked like this one, they would out sell Civics...How much do you lot spend on upgrades..Whats the first thing you change.?.

K&N air filter - paid for itself after 80K kms - just have to maintain it yourself. Modified the air intake box for better flow (removed the resonator restriction). Not bothered to do anything else performance wise on a NA motor.

:D Ive only had leasers here, so its something im looking forward to. A Good Mooch round for fancy wheels.

Depends on the car - more expensive ones remain completely stock as do pickups, but on anything else Thai made, the first thing to go is the stock wheels and OEM tires, followed usually by a body kit and some basic power and/or handling upgrades.

Oh and BTW, the Altis sells 3x the volume of the Civic ATM --but yeah, with less quirky/bland styling they might just be able to steal those other 1,500 odd units/month though :)

My mrs says l could do with a body kit.

A typical 5 piece skirt/spoiler kit in grade A ABS runs about 12-15K Baht.

If using full replacement bumpers in ABS, 30K-40K for the full kit.

Take 25%-50% off these prices for lower quality fiberglass versions.

Add 50%-100% for OEM versions.

They have a whole range of kits at the mall bang kapi. The roads aren't very body kit friendly here though.

I don't like the idea of a pod filter in hot weather, especially in bkk traffic. Most stock filter boxes are excellent heat shields. Just takes a little modifying to increase flow.

I put a copied bomex kit on a Nissan and all the drill holes were wrong and took re-doing. Original is much better if you have the cash.

I rather like the Re Fit interiors you see in the Glossy Mags, But never know where the Factories are .

Mild bodykits are fine and usually improve the look ,it's just everybody here wants to do the full 'Batman' look :cheesy:

<- still rocking the original front bumper :D Rear one is from the japanese RS grade Yaris, much sexier yet still subtle.

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to get the horn fixed? ;)

:cheesy: Has Cruise got a Z

The one that TC has, yep, has a Z.

Yeah :D restricted some what but W ?? Z ?? Your just jealous are'nt you of my wife's ( jelly mold) as trans once said.

My Thai son sorted it for mum I just paid, that and jokes apart it's been set up to go around corners like it's on rails, so on the Maesot visa run, I have great fun.

Whose Casey Jones when is at home.

I would like to say I have more skill when it comes to motorbikes but never been that good with cars, everyone I guess to there own and in their own feel so to speak, so in that little car going around corners it feels good.

For me trade in the stock tyres to ones that transform the handling and upgrade the sound system.

 Sound Systems, are like mobile phones, they should only be used when parked. Then miles away from me , i always get some Spotty Oik Ricer , who cant work out how a Baseball Cap fits in his BatMobile Civc park next to me, just to show off his Woofers. Prats.

For me I normally upgrade wheels and tires...if needed also the brakes. Stereo and interior I mostly leave stock.

On my 74 beetle, I sunk a lot into upgrading the engine before i did the handling and that was a mistake. Now that is fixed, handles like a go-kart. ;)

On my fiesta, I am planning a slight body kit(side skirt)+ some engine tweeks, aftermarket wheels and tyres and thats about it.

Years back a mate had a 1300 S Beetle, with full Okrasa tuning , he used it around the Sprint Circuits , i recall it rattled the Escort Mob, much to my amusement..

Mine is a 1303 Super beetle.

Has the un-traditional round windscreen - but got the macpherson strut suspension. With lowered struts it handles beautifully, much like an older 911.

I was doing my car up for hillclimb events with the car club I used to be in back in Aus.

Bored the engine from 1600- 1835cc with twin Weber and 4-1 extractors and semi race cam. Man I miss that car... :( Sitting in my shed back home collecting red backs lol
