Is this the legal smoked lamp you are talking about, Projector lamp CCFL for Nissan March?

unable to blow up the picture to search for E or DOT approval. If it is approved as smoked, it is legal in the markets it is approved for. TH market accepts both DOT and E. Be aware a bunch of Chinese are marked but never approved, thus no approval code

Just noticed these projector lights are made by Nissan so must be legal, their is no information regarding these lights, are they brighter and give a better field of light etc?

If you're looking at ones in the Thai aftermarrket, they'll most likely be Eagle Eyes, Sonar, Junyan or something like that..

Easy way to tell is the price - OEM projectors will cost 30K+ Baht, and will most likely be Stanley brand.

Projectors control/focus light output so you get more light where you need it, compared to reflectors which bleed light output.

The real benefit of projectors is only realized when also fitting HID Xenon though.

Baby Brained idea. They make you better lights, then you dim them,.Looks good to some, but pathetic to me.mad.gif. As for Power Boosting, would you insure a Mitsu G.T. at the same price as an Evo. Its CHEATING, pure and simple.1zgarz5.gif.

yep, in general

but as DOT allows much more bleed than E, a DOT projector can bleed more than an ordinary reflector E

Perhaps, but it's the only form of cheating my wife will tolerate :D

Still havent seen any Insurance differ price for different outputs from one engine. Mitsu 2,5 diesel comes factory with at least 4 different outputs, but Insurnace docs just say 2500cc. Insurance price seem to be based mainly on

Value

engine cc

number of seats/passengers

theft stats

same goes for bikes

cc and value, doesnt matter if a 650cc has 110 or 45 hp, they both cost approx 12k baht/year for 180k baht value covered

annual tax and Por Or Bor same, no difference caused by output

Up to you, i wouldn't let my kids bugger about with a insured item that's not to Manufactures Spec at point of Sale.. Neither would i be happy being hit by something not designed to handle the performance, or honouring a warenty claim made by a cheat....And make no mistake thats what you are, in the eyes of fair folk here. w00t.gif

Well thats insurance for you!!! I take it your question to me regarding can you find out about tinting film was just a little joke?

No, Iam keen to find the tint. my car aint exactly legal as it is so a bit of tint on the lights will be of no additional concern.

As I said I will find out for you on Monday, smoke tints make virtually no difference to the rear lights so I will keep mine, some people do not like them, I do not like arse holes driving like lunatics in and out of traffic with lights flashing, it's all about the personal choice!! happy day's !!!!

not sure where the cheat came from, but I have never removed the chips tuning when servicing or claiming Insurance. and never made a Toyota warranty claim, despite owning a dusin of them past 7 years

Scandinavian Toyota dealers sell and install a 207hp chips for Toyota 3,0 D4d, no change in warranty conditions. If they install it, they require to have it inspected/approved by DLT, and powerchange noted in DLT file

as for handling performance, all Vigo/Fortuna come with same brakes, 90 -270hp

this is #48, as i just remembered why the Stanley made (as part of the Conti parts supplier group) projector lights provided by Nissan are so expensive. Last time i read the E appovals, HID or Xenon as its called in its origin Europe, E approval requires continious levelling, while DOT and others accept load sensing only. E to not blind others, DOT not so concerned about this, none approved dont care at all.

Blinded by HID/Xenon, blame the owner for running shit lights, nothing wrong with proper E HID/Xenon low beam

and back on topic, tint spraying them only reduces output, not blinding bleed or height

I am forgetting HID/projector lights to much trouble, just had eagle eye yellow halogen bulbs installed very bright so all good their, as for my rear tinted lights which I am looking at now from my chair, their is very little difference from the original lens, my brake lights are virtually as bright as before so would cause no one any problems, plus I have had 2 sets of low level LED brake lights installed, no one could ever miss seeing me brake!! the tint is very light but looks good.

as for my side indicators I will forget tinting these as it is just to much of a problem getting it done. I am very safety conscious and if I thought for one second that my rear tints were dangerous I would remove them...

OK, so where are we at then? It appears the repeater lamp tinting has been put in the too hard basket, and projectors/Xenon are off the cards - so what's next? :D

Shall we just continue arguing about power chips? 5555 :D

Yep you can continue arguing about power chips which I know absolutely nothing about oh apart from the Bluefin one I had in the UK!!
