He's back! Nai Amphoe Sherrif Pat Riley, after a stint acting as an adjunct to some Texas rangers, roaming the high plains Indian country of northern Arizona,

by dent of popular demand, has returned to the northern parts of our own fair country, to insure that neither are unjust taxes paid, nor fools swindled too swiflty

of their ATM deposited funds, nor alchies allowed to speak only in bar Thai before falling down and passing out.

Meanwhile, I'm interested in taking my family up in a small plane to fly around the province, as that promises to offer much in the way of educational view.

Anyone else out there interested, or know how it can be arranged? I noticed a small about 12-seater parked toward the weather tower from the terminal...

I found my Thai far more fluent after a few hours in a bar Joel.

Did you see my topic on the flight to Chiang Mai?

It seems to be around 1500B per person, you could go a Tuesday, spend a couple of nights then fly back on the Thursday, or more economically, take the bus. :)

interesting, but what I want is to observe our fair province from the air.

In this land of opportunity....I would think anything and just about everything would be for hire. You sound like you would like to charter a plane for an hour or two? I would be interested in that for sure. Go early in the morning while the air is cool and you won't need air sickness bags. Someone owns the aircraft and someone pilots it, perhaps the same person, so an inquiry at the airport might get you in touch with one or the other. ett

added a reply yesterday, but as CAT was down, well...

centralization is the bane of this country. Kan Air offers charter flights, but to find the price,

I must contact someone inundated with work (as it were), in BKK!

the planes are 12 seaters (8 window seats). interesting, and I'll be trying again.

But the problem remains. We need a second "Hub" - including real international airport

(CR has an "international airport" - did you know?)... if Suwannaphum floods, the country's lifeline is cut.

But, the power structure must be preserved at all costs, even that...

which, I suppose, is what one gets with an educational system like what we have here.

And anyway, CM won't do as 2nd city (which is why we're 'innundated' with huge vehicles of BKK license plates);

KhonKaen, Korat, ChiangSaen? or perhaps we can become used to relying on subsistance farmers.
