hello everybody

i live in muak lek in saraburi province and i was wondering if anybody here could help me locate off road mountain biking trails where i could bike on. i know khao yai is close and there are trails there but i was wondering if there were any a little closer to me. the people from the bike shop i give my business to told me chet sao noi waterfall has a trail nearby but for the life of me i cannot find it! it is difficult to get specifics since i am not very familiar with the thai language yet. any help would be very much appreciated.

thanks

hi hagar,

We (as in the BHHB) often ride in the proximities of Khao Yai, either in the arranged monthly trip or more spontaneous gatherings, where a few of us will get there for a one or two day ride.

Do you drive at all? If you do I will tell you next time we are around the area so you can join us.

hi guys, thanks for the replies. i spoke to somebody (will, i think?) from bike hash over the phone once. i saw the website a while ago and got his phone number. anyway, he was very nice and said it was easy to join up, also that you guys have a trip in khao yai planned this 26/27th. my wife has a few engagements then so maybe we wont be able to make it then but that is not so much the issue as is the fact that even for future events, unless things happen close to us, we cannot get to gatherings because we dont own a car. for khao yai, i had planned we could just road bike it whenever we want or, originally, when we were thinking of going to meet up with the hash later this month. it would have been nice to meet with a few fellows who could let me on about trails and such.

anyway, yes it would be very nice if you all, or a few of you, ever come up this side of thailand, and would let me know so we could meet up and ride. my bike shop fellow told me that there is a good trail in chet sao noi area, also i heard there is a race there sometime this month. i am not good enough to race whatsoever but it is just frustrating that there is a trail so close to me (chet sao noi is 9 kilometers from me) and i dont know where it is. i have been there often by road to look for it but man, i just have not been able to. do any of you guys know it? they say it is a thirty kilometer track. i also have the phone number of the saraburi thai mtb club leader but he does not speak english at all, he is very nice though but no help whatsoever!

anyway, that was quite a rant. sorry. but yeah, i would like to take you up on your offer to inform me of any future trips to hereabouts. i am not sure how far away khao yai is from me, but i am sure we can road bike it there on a friday afternoon and stick around in khao yai for the week end. i think it is a fifty odd kilometer ride, i am not sure, i will check on that.

thanks
