Rayong / Ban Phe

Featured Replies

There is a Triathlon in Ban Phe and a Long distance swim event from Koh Samet to the mainland arranged the first week of December. The organizations race office is located at Laan Hin Khaow beach and for the Long distance swim it is opposite the Suan terd Pakiet, opposite Air force office, Ban Phe?

Can anyone who live in or nearby Rayong/ Ban Phe or know the area very well recommend a place to stay near (preferably walk/cycling distance) to the above mentioned locations, max budget 2500 Baht/night?

BTW, how far is it from Rayong city to Ban Phe/ ferry Koh Samet (driving)?

Thanks :)

There are quite a number of small hotels and guest houses in Ban Phe. Unfortunately, Bedrock has closed as a result, apparently, of an unexpected failure of the owner to renew Mark's lease. He intends to build a larger hotel.

Diamond, Christie's, Tawan, Mon's Guesthouse, and more

Walking or cycling around Ban Phe would be easy.

Rayong to Ban Phe is approximately 20~25 km.

Do you know if these places have a webpage or/and bookable online!

Thanks.

Not on that page is the url for Mon's place. (this is not an advertisement, although she is a friend of mine)

There are also a number of others not shown on the pages. There are resorts and hotels all along the beach. I'd prefer, myself, not to depend on the public songthaew, particularly as they stop running after 6 p.m., but there are moto-taxis, and if you've got a bicycle, you could go all the way up the beach area towards Suan Son, where there are many more resorts. I don't have any further info on specific ones, but I know they're not expensive.

Really look forward to the week in Ban Phe. Let’s hope for a flood free Bangkok soon and thanks for the replies and great info.
