Oberkommando
It's not just the fact that he did it, it's the underhanded, gutless and spineless way in which it was done. An utter disgrace to the principles of governance and rule of law. The man is unworthy of his office. It's pathetic. I disagree, in Thailand, those are all the traits that are required to hold such a position and only serve to assist swift ascent to the higher realms of public office. gregb
Don't know why you all beat up on Thaksin. Are you seriously saying he is the only corrupt politician. Sadly no. If that was the case we wouldn't be in this mess now, would we? Thaksin is a demagogue and the people who oppose him do so not out of greed or any of the other mistaken reasons we see thrown around on this site, but out of pure fear. Those who know him are terrified of him. He is not just another greedy politician. He is certainly a demagogue and likely a sociopath. He holds within him the ability to be another Hitler or Pol Pot. He must be stopped at all costs. Although I agree with you he should have been dealt with while he was still here rather than attempting to exile him. When he does return, civil war will be necessary to finally eliminate him. But as horrible as that thought is, it must be done if the country is to be saved. If Thaksin were just another corrupt politician, everyone would come together for their mutual benefit. As it stands, this is a war between relative good and relative evil. A war for the future direction of the country. A war between tyranny and whatever it is we have right now. Thailand may not be perfect, but allowing it to fall to the square faced tyrant would be a disaster of epic proportions.
