I'm planning on bicycling from Samut Songkram to Satun. Are there many hotels along hwys 4 and 41, or does one need to ride into the bigger towns to find a bed. I'm specifically looking at the area between Huan Hin and Prachap Khiri Khan, near and south of Chum Phon, near and south or Surathani, and near and out of Phatthalung.

I can't tell you about south of Pranburi, but I can only remember seeing one actually on the highway between Hua Hin and Pranburi. Most hotels are not on the busy highway 4 I suspect as there is a lot of truck noise since it is the only route to the south. Hotels in this area tend to be off the highway nearer the ocean.
