There is really no right or wrong. Tizme, I am glad it has worked out for you. But there also winners in realestate.

Some prefer to have something they can see, walk around, and in time pass down to their children. Some folks feel like that are "alive" when they work with their hands....

Some folks feel like they are smarter than average, buy earning money via their brains rather than their back....

Different strokes for different folks.

As for me, I dipped my toes in the Thailand realestate. I invested about 75K on a 7 townhouse complex. On paper I earn 8.8% ROI annually, not to mention supposed appreciation of the complex (if there is such a thing in Thailand dwellings). I think the reality is, I earn more like 5%, which most folks could do with little effort investing on safe bets such as CD's etc.

I may do as you say, and not invest further in realestate.... I will just the town houses to keep me busy, and let my money earn on its own. You are lucky you understand how it is done via other means.

I agree 100%, I came out ahead in my realestate dealings as well (through capital growth), but there were many more headaches along the way that I am glad that I no longer have.
