What Mobile Provider For Chiang Saen?

Featured Replies

I have an AIS card and will be spending up to 3 months in Chiang Saen , Does AIS have the best coverage or should I change to DTAC?

I tried to find some coverage maps but couldn't.

AIS or Dtac should be pretty good in that area. I would stick with the AIS card until you get there and then see what the signal is.It's easy to change cards if the signal is not good

There is a coverage map for DTAC in the north of Thailand here. You need to click on the 'north' section of the map on the right-hand side, then click on the flashing 'Chiang Rai' link...

It states there are 5 DTAC phone stations in Chiang Saen!? Whether that is good or not, I'm afraid I couldn't tell you...!? I use DTAC and can get a signal in most places.

The AIS '3G' coverage map is here. It only really covers the centre of Chiang Rai though (probably because this is the only place with 3G?) - there doesn't appear to be any coverage maps showing Edge or GPRS coverage that I can see I'm afraid...?

Have fun,

M

Thank you both, I will try my AIS first in CS. I will be spending more time in Yonok in the future and have been told AIS does not work there
