i tried a search in the Isaan forum for Ubon and i only got 5 results.......and soooooooo many ads..........its not easy to read............

There are plans to implement google search into the next upgrade but for now, I tend to use google advanced search and put www.thaivisa.com/forum in the search within site or domain

I typed in "shrimp" in the search field for the Thai Food forum and got 109 results, of which only about half a dozen had the word "shrimp" in the title.

This is either fouled up or something is missing.

Be sure to select the Match Type in the pull down box. The default is topics and posts.

And Display As:

I first tried in the field at the top of this page. Then tried the advanced search as you suggested. Both with identical results:

I am looking for "shrimp" in titles, not content. If you include content you will have to go thread by thread and manually look at every page, thus defeating the purpose of a search engine. I was trying to be considerate and look first to see if there is a thread concerning what I wanted to ask, but the "too inclusive" nature of the search makes this onerous.

From the 1st snapshot I posted above I selected 'Only Search in Titles' and below, 'Display Results - as a topic list' and have only 3 hits. This is with Thai Food forum selected.
