The majority of people who post on this forum do not use hotels but live in

houses or apartments, expats i am talking about

The same type of question is asked about once a week on this forum if you

check previous posts there are lots of answers

Anywhere in patong is in walking distance of bars and entertainment

Presumably you are coming here on holiday.

If so, all of the well-known hotels will suit you perfectly - they are in the 'best' parts of Patong (i.e. close to the beach and all the tourist attractions).

It seems strange to me how people think Phuket is Patong... I didn't even go to Patong the first time I came to Phuket and I never go there now!

I must have missed the post where someone confused Patong for Phuket. All I read was someone asking about a hotel in Patong.

Maybe not in this thread, but in many others...

Expat Hotel in Patong..

will have all you need

nice pool with plenty exercise places right at the end of the street

enjoy

That place is still there? I remember it caught fire at one time... I use to park by there, seven years ago.

So not when you first came here and not now, but you did go to Patong in the years in between?

Yeah, I did. I lived there 7 years ago for 9 months until I moved to Rawai. I use to go once in a while to do my 90 day checkin there several years ago and hit Patong Whiskey on the way home. But I haven't even been there in well over a year now. First time I came to Phuket, I stayed in Kata.

For what it is, the Expat has got quite expensive in recent times. I can think of far better value (any of the Lamais for a start). I think the poster who suggested the OP trawl through the internet for accommodation is on the money.

Hi guys,

Everthink is working like a charm. Patong is a very nice area even if it(s a lot more expensive than Chiang Mai.

Could you advice me a little motocircle road trip around patong ? ( A trip I can do in one day)

tthanks ;)

You mean around -PHUKET-

Send me maybe a PM I am here in Patong in the moment.

But anyway its easy to go around Phuket, but the traffic around and in Patong and Phuket town is crazy heavy, special at sunset times.

Nice trip is the West coast, so start from Patong and go south or north along the coastline.

By going north take a map and look to come to the road passing by -NAITHON BEACH- not easy, you have to go left in a sharp right curve in a village.

Take care, more than 100 road death in 2011 on Phuket roads!
