December 6, 200520 yr I am really confused as what to do as I have been told so many different stories as to what is required. I've been married to my thai wife for 2 years and we have a 9 month old boy. I want to go to to BKK to get him a british passort at the embassy, and register his birth in the UK. Can someone let me know the procedure as what to do, what documents to have ready, payments etc. I've been told that we have to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs first, then to the embassy, and that a UK cheque is required for payment of the service? That can't be right can it? Much appreciation for your advice. Noodles

If he was born in Thailand and you are British, then have a look at British Embassy Birth Registration

January 10, 200620 yr Hello Noodles, i have done this already at the UK Embassy in Bangkok, Get the passport forms and the registration form for the birth certificate from the Embassy. You will need your Thai marraige certificate, your wifes ID we used her passport i think, babies Thai birth certificate, you will need your birth certificate original not a copy. Everything in Thai needs a translation. 2 passport size photo's of baby, i think that i signed the back of these. I used a visa/translation agency to do all of my work, it cost around 12.000 baht if i remember rightly, that include's the UK passport and birth certificate fee's also the agencies fee's. This saves alot of time as far as i am concerned and it was money well spent. I cannot remember the agencies name, but i will give you the address incase you wish to use them. Mr Josh Sindhorn buildings (Tower 3) Wireless Road Opposite the American Embassy. Go to the 19th floor come out of the lift and turn right, the office is the first on the left. Mr Josh has done all my paper work for me, and i would recommend him to anyone. Good luck and congratulations on the birth of your son.
