Hi Guys, I am coming back again in May next year to settle down, my problem is my current PC is on its last legs and not worth exporting. I can get a new Notebook here in UK for £399 (around 26,334baht) The spec is Acer Aspire

Sempron 3000+ Processor

256MB DDR333 RAM

(upgradeable to 2GB using dual soDIMM modules)

40GB HDD ATA/100 Hard Disk Drive

DVD-Dual Double Layer drive

15.0" XGA TFT LCD with 1024x768 pixel resolution

16.7 million colours

Audio system with two built-in speakers

Built-in microphone

56Kbps ITU V.92 data/fax software modem with international PTT certification;

Wake-on-Ring ready

10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet; Wake-on-LAN ready

Can I better this for the same price in Pattaya or should I buy it here and bring it with me? Any advice appreciated.

Have a look here it does not have the exact same specifications be close

The prices differ from shop to shop so some wandering will save you some baht :o

but upgrade the ram to 512 or maybe 1 gig

Thanks guys, yup looks like buying it here is the best option. The one I have mentioned above has a DVD Dual Layer +- RW and is upgradeable to 2GB ram .

I have had this PC for 4 years with a 40GB hard drive and only used 7GB so I think the 40GB on the notebook is big enough for my needs. So best I get my order in now! Thanks again, as always the forum comes up trumps!
