I have a barely used ipod 5th gen and all of a sudden its frozen. Went online and tried the reboot and nothing. I live in Pattaya and was wondering if there are shops around to service this or just go to i studio in the mall...warranty has just expired

did you try performing a manual reset (not connected to a pc)?

Step 1: Make sure your iPod is fully charged

  • To reset your iPod:

    • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
    • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
      Tip:

      • If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
      • If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

[*]Make sure your iPod is fully charged and then toggle the Hold switch on and off

Every ipod i have had will freeze every so often so i write these steps on the back with a permant marker. The last incident happened a few weeks ago & took about 10 minutes before it "unfroze" so keep on trying by holding the menu and centre until it works. Take to a Apple centre as alast resort because it will not be cheap.
