Rain here east of CR was side ways, very strong winds, for most of the start, then hail came down as well. Big light show but now over. Only lasted about 30 minutes.

How about Phayao? Anybody know?

My girlfriend tells me its pouring it down in Phayao. She does not want to wake up and see it tomorrow as she has to moped to work :)

Had very driven rain last night, sideways for a while (Mae Lao). The 6 inch overlap of roof tiles failed to keep the water out. Didn't last long, but sure improved the air this morning.

Near Pong Nakham / Karien Ruammit - gusts of 77km/h up ( have anenometer ), until that blew over !! 10 trees gone to. Outside ceiling fan spun so fast it stripped all its blades off by tilting and hitting the ceiling . Apart from that - welcome shower of rain.

Same issue as macdon61 with roof tiles. Now learnt by example why 30 degree pitch roof is not steep enough !!

We had wind, thunder and lightning but not much rain out here in Phaya Mengrai.

Got very little in Dok kham tai of anything in 2 days. Yesterday morning was good but lasted for a short time. At least the air quality is better.

Stay at the farmhouse as usual, was watching NCIS on the laptop.....until the sound of thunder, hibernated the laptop, came out to enjoy the lightning and thunder, guard dog was looking up the sky too... rain came...got under the blanket, lights off...and enjoy the sound of rain hitting down on the roof...finally after almost 3 month of long wait, the ponds will start to fill. happy.png

Well, there's absolutely nothing in the part of Phayao I'm living in...??! I have been hoping for a downpour too!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow...?!

Been raining here in the hills close to mfl university for two nights. Even though we just moved to CR, we were very happy to see the rain. Especially since our French neighbor has been on meds for weeks.

A heavy storm has just passed, we were without electricity for about an hour. But all back to normal now.

A small tornado here in Donsila, beautiful to see how the clouds are turning around.

I'm really happy to read and also hear from my wife that there has been some good rainfall. One has to be happy with some improved air quality. :)

Any more rain or just that one day? Is the burning and smoke beginning again?

not so bad in the immediate vicinity, lots not all that far off. Wish I could see how, I'd post a map pic...:

When I came back from CR last night saw some burning. Figure they'll burn as long as it will burn and only stop when too wet.

My wife told me that here in Donsila it is now forbidden to burn. Small fire is 500 Baht fine.

No, but the smoke isn't as bad as it was.

Pretty hot though.

Songkran might be a welcome addition this year

We suffered a torrential downpour last night and today the air feels almost healthy enough to breath. Perhaps a bike ride is in order, after we cleanup the debris from the storm that is.biggrin.png
