WIth regards my opinion that Hamilton got an easy ride and no-one called him out for his tweets here please correct me where I'm wrong with that.

Nothing to correct.

I don't need to be harsh on Alonso here, there are more than enough posts condemning him already. I do defend him and maybe play devil's advocate to some degree, I feel a little 'balance' is required.

There is already plenty of balance. If you look back over the course of the season, there was plenty of praise for the way that he was driving. Relentlessly defending him in the way you have has done nothing for balance.

I agree there has been some balance once the discussion is centred on his driving. It's where his perceived character or personality comes under discussion that the balance goes out of it and the personal barbs start.

But nobody is defending Hamilton for his crass acts. You are defending Alonso for his. You brought up the matter of the tweets and i completely agree. It was utterly stupid and embarrassing. I don't accuse you of Hamilton bashing for saying what you do, or accuse you of just saying that because of who he is, and nor do i defend Hamilton on the basis of "well you are attacking him so someone else should defend him to restore balance". That would be silly.

The point is I said hardly anything and at most made a one line comment about the tweets. Nobody else even raised it, no-one could be accused of Hamilton bashing. Yet you maintain that Hamilton would be more harshly criticised.

Contrast that with the pages and pages of prose dissecting Alonso's actions (and Ferrari's which are all attributed to Alonso) in the last few weeks.

Character and personality is what makes drivers who they are, it's what makes them drive the way they do, it's what makes them say the things they do. It's important. If people were talking about Alonso's personal life, what he does in the bedroom say, i could understand your argument about relevance and importance. But none of this has been about his personal life. It has been about the things he has done and said within the Formula One "arena".

Well you have raised it now and i agree with you. Had you (or anyone else) raised it at the time i would have agreed then too. Certainly wouldn't have defended it.

Ecclestone gives Bangkok Formula 1 GP the green light

http://asiancorrespo...t: Siam Voices)

Not sure how much good an F1 race in Bangkok would do for the country, but from a personal and selfish point of view, i would love it to happen, i'm just a bit sceptical that it ever will. Pencilling in a date on the 2015 calendar doesn't really mean a lot at this stage. A long way to go and a lot that can happen in that time. Fingers crossed though...

Bernie era ending, says Luca.

I do happen to think that a shake up wouldn't be a bad thing for the sport with the people at the top, i'm just not sure that someone like Luca, with his recent spat with Bernie fresh in the memory, should be the one calling for it. Seems to be quite a lot of bitterness at Ferrari this Christmas. Hope it doesn't sour the turkey.
