Singapore Dollars

Featured Replies

Flying out with AA on Monday as I had a chance to get away from the poor air quality in CM and AA could not fulfill its obligation to fly me there in June because they have cancelled the service after May 21st.

Problem is I don't have any Singapore Dollars because none of the banks in CM have them.(Well I have about 4 from a previous visit, but that won't pay for a taxi to the hotel)

My question is can I change TB at the airport, although I don't arrive there till about 9pm, if I can should I change all my spending money at the airport and the rest at a bank in the city the following day?

If it's a no-go should I change what I have to USD?

Many thanks in advance

TP

you don't have a credit card? a zillion ATMs exist in Singapore and you can pay even a tiny fare in each and every taxi by credit card.

  • There's a 24 hour bureau de change in the arrivals hall of the Changi budget terminal where u can buy SGD with baht.

Well even better, there are several bureau de change in the T1 arrivals hall.

Thanks for the help guys....but its all irrelevant now as Air Asia has (for the second time) cancelled the flight. means I loose over $100 in cancellation fees for the first nights hotel booking.

Gotta love Air Asiajerk.gif

1. You can change at SK for SGD, best rate in CM smile.png

2. Money Changers at Changi Airport is 24/7, plenty of choice but the rate suck

3. All local ATM accept foreign issued ATM/Credit Credit for cash withdrawal

4. You can pay almost everything with credit card.

enjoy your trip

there is a 'american express & another local' foreign exchange kiosk booth at both terminals ( as I remember there is one inside before you exit customs). best thing to ask a duty officer or security personnel for location before exiting customs.

* a quick tip: Singapore Changi airport has a Duty free store (called arrival DFS galleria store), if you drink beer you can buy up to 6 cans (2 slip of 3 cans) under DF allowances either or Liquor 1 bottle. The DFS store accepts foreign currencies and will give you change in Sing. dollars.

You should buy your favorite liquor as the booze is pricy in town.
