Credit Card Cash Withdrawal

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Can i still take money from Kasikorn or Bangkok Bank in Bangkok with only my credit card and my passport without PIN?

Unlikely, as even up here in the Boonies Kasikorn has a chip and PIN machine.

I have never needed my pin to withdraw or draw an advance by using my credit card. Just slide in the credit machine and then the receipt comes out and I sign it.

In the last 15 years here I have never needed my pin, only if using an ATM, but not an advance in the Bank Counter.

I don't use it very often because my bank in the states charges 3% on International charges/purchases and advances.

Just take the credit card and passport to the bank and tell the representative that you want to withdraw from your credit card. You do not need to have the pin.

If your card has a chip (gold contacts towards one end) and the bank has a chip-and-pin machine (most do these days) then they are likely to ask for it.

The machines do have the option to bypass pin entry, so they may or may not ask, and could possibly be persuaded to bypass if you ask nicely.

If the card has no chip then you will never be asked for your pin in an over the counter transaction.
