Hi,

I got fed up of waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich update via Kies for the Samsung Galaxy S2. (un-rooted or modified from original)

The firmware can be downlaoded at..

http://hotfile.com/get/149694523/4f75936e/e601df4/I9100DXLP7_I9100OLBLP7_XSE.zip

You will need odin to upload to the phone, all you need do upload the big file it in the "PDA' section

The phone restarts, does a bit of initialisation and you have Android 4 on the Galaxy S2

Regards

Lee

No responsibility accepted if you brick your phone :-)

How is the modem working for you? 3G OK? GPS OK? Call quality?

Does it have TW4?

Can you provide any (original) screen-shots?

It seems like this should be available via KiES? Has anyone tried using KiES?

I've been using ICS for a few weeks on an SGS1; the multi-tasking features of ICS are by far the best feature.

It seems OK so far, everything seems to work as normal and I lost no data or apps, it does have the Touchwiz interface

The web browser seems much better than before, and that face unlocking is a nice gimmick.

Gmail integration and Microsoft exchange seems must better too.

But not had it long enough to properly evaluate it.

DXLP7 has been out for a while, its Region is Indonesia. The modem is ok better than LPQ, i have had problems with all the ICS based modems (intermittent data disconnect even though the phone indicated a h+ connection). The touch sensitivity is sub par on this release, very annoying at least to me. XWLP3 is snappier and the touch sensitivity issues are resolved,

As a side note I dont recommend flashing the way the OP posted because it will update your bootloaders, making a usb jig non functional. There is the Chainfire's Triangle away but it carries a risk of bricking your phone, the developer even says its last resort. Much better to root and flash via CWM

I am sick of waiting for the update!! my phone is NOT rooted. What ICS version should I try to install? will I lose everything on my phone? I have odin on my phone but my phone is not rooted so it is useless.

I installed the wanamlite rom from one of the links above and now have a weird problem where the microphone only works when the speaker is turned on. Is a real nuisance when trying to make a call.

These roms work better if a factory reset is done, wipe all cache and dalvik. No idea if you did that or not. I use the Resurrection 1.7 for a week now and it is very stable. 1.6 was buggy, as I kept losing battery even when plugged in.

But, way better than stock roms.

Has everyone discovered the "Easter Egg"?

Settings, About phone, rapidly and repeatedly press on "Android version 4.0.x". Press and hold the ice cream sandwich Android. ;)
