Can Indian Nationality Get Thai Non-B Visa In Vientiane?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm HR for an international company, helping my Indian new staff getting Thai non-B visa. He told me that he's checked with Thai embassy in Malaysia and Singapore but they don't accept visa application for Indian nationality there.. I'm trying to check if it can be done in Laos instead of flying back home as he is already in Thailand as a student. Anyone has an update info about getting Non-B from Laos for Indian? Possible?

Big thanks!

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't as long as they have the relevant/ required documentation

Some embassies has their own individual rules and could be very strict with certain nationalities. Some nationalities are required to apply for Thai visa at Thai embassy in their home countries. My issue is my employee is already in Thailand so we don't want to fly him long way back to Delhi to apply visa.

Am quite sure Indian national can not obtain in Laos unless a resident.

Applicants who are nationals of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria, Libya, Yemen, Egypt and Palestinian State

Passport holders of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria, Libya, Yemen, Egypt and Palestinian States are requested to file an application at the Thai Embassy/Consulate-General where they have their permanent residence.

Thank you very much lobpuri3! smile.png

Which source did you find that statement? Could you please share the link with me. I can use it as a reference when explaining to my boss and my staff.

Got involved in this query a few years ago when a company who were working for us want to bring Indian nationals into to Thailand to work...bottom line is your new staff member will have to go back to Indian to get his visa, "Lopburi3's" quote is 100% correct.

Getting visa's locally in SEA will not happen, the embassies and consulates in the region are fully aware of this requirement

Ok, thank you everyone for your info! :)

Source must have been UK Consulate as listed 45 pounds as fee for single entry and 100 pounds for multi entry visa but only have a text copy so no original link and it could have changed (but do not recall any reports). A check of Brisbane front page lists these countries as able to obtain visa at that location if a resident but this is an Honorary Consulate so may only apply to them.

I suspect the only safe path would be to phone Embassy in Laos - if it can be issued it may take an extended period so best to be aware of that before taking a chance.
