There is a big twin hulled yacht (not sure when a yacht becomes a ship) anchored off Koh Tao Pun (small island next to Koh Som - NE of Samui).

The yacht is called Asean Lady. One large hull and one smaller one. Looks like some kind of working vessel rather than a rich man's toy. It was also here a few days ago and then went to KPN for a couple of days. Came back this morning.

Do any of you know what it is and what it is doing please?

Never seen a yacht like this; amazing but also strange but it certainly has HUGE spaces on its 3 decks (and below).

The Asean LADY IS owned by a Singaporean businessman (South Africa born), Brian Chang* who chairs shipyard Yantai Raffles in China whilst the interior has been designed by his wife Annie Chang.

Not the prettiest boat I've seen, makes me think of Steve Jobs' boat.

But at least this one is seaworthy...

Perhaps testing out the waters early, for the annual Samui Regatta at the end of the month?

Can't imagine why anyone would want to take pictures of your house Tropo!!! whistling.giftongue.png

Jimmy - did you take your meds today? wink.png

RA's yacht is not the type with sails. It's more like the type with helicopters! 3 or 4 decks high. The TITAN is 78.4 meters long, 12.4 meters wide and looked about 100 feet high.

Crew of 19 and guests up to 14 - more like a small hotel than a yacht. It is one of the smaller ones that he owns apparently.
