So I have just returned from getting a non imm b from KL and I had no problems at all. However, one guy going for a 60 day tourist was asked to show money / bank statements which he did not have so was rejected. Another guy going for non imm b was rejected and told he would only have a tourist one at best. In all about 5 people were rejected point blank for various reasons.

Also, at the airport coming in I saw two people actually turned away from immigration. First guy was Turkish and the Imm guard was leaning back say "No, no, go away, you go" and the Turkish guy was standing there non plussed saying "what is? what is?" His card was filled in from what I could see, and Turks do not need visa for 30 days so perhaps he had gone too many times but the guard was actually being quite aggressive about it. Then, an american chap in front of me who, about 40 or so, was rejected as well, in the same manor. Heaven knows why and had me concerned as well. Anyway, straight through.

Just though it worth mentioning as I've not seen so many people rejected for Visa's and never seen anyone denied entry at the airport before.

Could be less than six month validity of passport, or not have required financials (US$500), or not having onward ticket. Thanks for the post - appears they may be cracking down on entry.

I assume this was when you arrived in KL.

No. When I arrived back in Bangkok. After all, this a section about visa etc to Thailand. The clue about filling in the card shoudl give it away; no silly filling in of a form required for KL.

KL is incredibly easy place for entree and exit (and very well organised and set out as well).

Just had to ask. It's been a long time since I traveled to Malaysia (1998 I think it was)

I also read it as KL as that was the subject of this thread. In the case of Thailand there is no six month rule and cash/tickets are seldom checked.

OP - I have Three Quick Questions re KL:

Were you applying for a 3 month Single Entry or a one Year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant Type 'B' Visa at KL?

Which did you show: WP3 Receipt, Acceptance Letter from Labour or Work Permit Copy?

Also if you showed your WP, what was the remaining WP validity period?

I was applying for a 3 month single entry non imm b

I own my own company so showed them all the usual docs for that. No work permit right now or application as right now I am not working for the company.

For 12 month multiple entry you need 18 months left on your passport whihc I don't have, and 7 months remaining on your work permit.

Interesting - you got a Single Entry 90 Day Non B Visa in KL with no WP3 Receipt, but presumably with Company Papers and an Invitation Letter from your Company.

Yup - exactly. The letter I wrote just said I needed to be here for business issues basically; nothing more than that. Now the last one I got I wrote in the letter I wanted it for employment purposes to get a work permit, and in this letter did not mention that. The visa itself is exactly the same so I assume if I wanted to I could use this for a work permit application as well?

Thanks for the extra information; sorry to ask so many questions, but is the company you own Thai?

As Mario has posted - the 90 Non Immigrant 'B' Visa Entry will be fine to support a Work Permit application.

Most of it yes, as per the daft laws of the land.

Any idea what was the nationality of the guy who got his 60-day tourist visa application rejected by KL?

Secondly, does KL issue double-entry tourist visas?

When you take out all Thai AND Malaysian holidays in a year, they are basically open for about 5 weeks a year. Couple of days here, couple of days there....
