What type of router do you have ? What type of signal does your router transmit ?, B, G, or N ?

Technically speaking Wireless N routers can provide ranges higher than 10 times that of a Wireless G router and Wireless N routers have also been reported to provide speeds of up to 5 times that of Wireless G router.*

I have a Linksys (B&G), which has two antennas, which rotate and can be pointed in the direction I want a stronger signal. I have seen optional larger antennas that are available for certain types of routers

Try changing the location of the router within the house.

Extension telephone cables are easy to buy.

If the antenna is removable, the something like this may help.

I can move my signal booster a different angle and 3 inches in a different direction and my signal strength can go from 40% to 78%. lol

Do you have a laptop or a desktop.

These are the most common ones I find in Thailand. If you have a laptop, move around your house to find the best signal with this device. Make sure you refresh the wifi when doing this. Give it a couple of seconds to adjust to the area you're in. I stay in a condo and get wifi outside of the condo slow rip off.

I added a large antenna (sow a gaht (in thai)) for an extra 300 baht. It actually made a huge difference in picking up a good signal.

I wish internet in Thailand would be more accessible. These guys only want to fight about it when they are already making a ton of cash from it here. S Korea has amazingly fast internet for very cheap. When I was in Hong Kong you could get 100 mbs for $40 a month. TRULY 100 MBS. I did a speed test .

I've just figured it out how to configure an antenna to get a better signal. Went to a Thai computer shop, but nobody knew how to do it.

I bought a " Tenda" USB antenna for 390 baht, using a 5 meter USB ( a longer cable doesn't work!) cable now and get high speed internet. The configuration seems to be difficult, you'll might have to disable your internal card that picks signals up.

If you've got a problem please page me and I'll let you know how it works. Cheers- wai.gif
