nearly 23 years ago in november 1989 i swore a holy oath that i will never wear a suit or a tie again except for weddings and funerals. since then i attended one wedding and two funerals.

Herr Naam's attire is nearly identical to my own but I gave up the Bally loafers about 20 years ago. I like the comfort around by foot but the soles are just too thin. You can feel every dam_n pebble. Now I wear Timberland boat shoes or sometimes Topsiders or sometimes flipflops.

BTW, the wife and kids are away this week so my inside attire is boxer shorts and a T-shirt. The maid doesn't seem to care but in speaking to my wife last night she seems to have an objection.

I always prefer more relaxed casual attire when watching TV of an evening and the best part is I'm also prepared for this year's floods to boot.
