30 Day Arrival Card Can I Get Another 60 Days

Featured Replies

I get a 30 day arrival card on the plane. Is there any way I can use this to get another 60 days???

You get nothing on the plane, you get 30 days when arriving by plane, if you have a flight out of Thailand (visa on arrival), if you do not have a flight ticket out within 30 days you must get a visa from an Embassy or consulate before traveling.

If you get a multi entry tourist visa then after every 90 days you walk over the border to another country and get stamped in and out of that country then cross back over into Thailand

Your options are limited..

You can get another 7 day extension at an immigration office and that's about it.

Alternatively you can do a VISA run to a border and back in the same day and get another 14 days.

You should have got a tourist visa before arriving, it may not be too late to get a Visa at a consulate or embassy. Whicxh will give you 60 days with the option to extend for a further 30 days at an immigration office.

He filled out an arrival card on the plane and then obtained a 30 day visa exempt stamp at airport. No you can not extend that more than 7 days. For 60 days you would have to visit a Consulate outside Thailand to obtain a tourist visa and return using that. Or you could fly out and back twice for two 30 day stays as you already have or cross land borders and return for 15 day stay.

Thank you.I have always thought that the card I fill in on Thai Airways before we land gave 30 days.I was just trying to 60 days extra

Everyone fills that card out - if you have a visa you would enter that information and receive a longer stay - but without a visa most people get 30 days visa exempt entry.

Thank you.So if someone, an agent told me they can get me another 60 days without leave the country that would not be right

Not without a valid reason such as medical or having a Thai wife/child. If someone it taking your passport across borders to obtain a visa (as was done a decade ago - before terrorist actions) it is highly illegal and you will be the person paying the price when found out - do not take shortcuts that involve such actions. You can visit Vientiane or other consulate for one night and obtain the required visa yourself without excessive cost or putting yourself in danger. The cost of a tourist visa is 1,000 baht.
