October 20, 201213 yr Popular Post hello folks...thanks for your interest and concern...the assignment here is for 30 months but I'll be home for visits and back on the vodka drip so that maybe I'll find my muse again from time to time... I've got the diabetes and the hypertension well under control as medication is easily available around here but my legs don't work as well as before and I ain't no upper body strength left at all but as I'm in the site office or on the turbine floor I ain't got too much physical exertion to worry about...the weather has cooled significantly as well... The audio is in English (American English). It's an old one, but not as old as the tapes I still have of the Lockheed group's 'Saudi Blues' songs of the Seventies. Unfortunately the tapes are too old to copy now - very poor quality, but very funny lyrics. (The group were all expelled from Saudi when the tapes reached the authorities)

State television quoted a Saudi civil defence official as saying that 22 people died and at least 111 people were injured in the incident. "The truck driver was surprised by a road accident on its route, causing it to crash into one of the pillars of the bridge," spokesman Captain Mohamed Hubail Hammadi said. The industrial building, several storeys high, was almost levelled by the blast, with only one corner left standing. Several adjacent buildings were damaged and nearby vehicles, including a minibus on the flyover, set on fire, witnesses said. More than 100 emergency personnel were combing the wreckage on the flyover and searching for victims in the rubble of the building. "I was inside the building when the blast came. Then boom, the building collapsed. Furniture, chairs and cabinets blasted into the room I was in," said survivor Kushnoo Akhtara, a 55-year-old Pakistani worker, who was covered in dirt and bleeding from multiple cuts over his body.
