The question, "Is Bedlam Getting Boring?" sort of implies that it used to be not-boring. It seems to me that some people used to say that Bedlam was boring because it was just a bunch of political discussions. Now the discussions are gone and the same people are now saying that Bedlam has gotten boring. Seems like a common opinion might be that Bedlam is boring and it has always been boring. If it has always been boring...and if it is now boring....then why don't these people just stop posting here and go out there to where all the excitement is and post their little hearts out. This is not meant as a flame. This is just the way I interpret what I have seen here over a period of several months and I don't understand what this attitude is that I seem to have seen....or maybe I'm missing something.

It seems Bedlam was a little more active when the Tits thread was active, but then things got carried away and the threads were shut down.

Now, there are a few posters starting new topics that are of interest to them, and a lot of members (like me) waiting for these new topics to comment on them. However, if the new topics are not of interest to some, they get bored (especially when it seems the topics are all similar in nature).

Many of the new topics are reactions and comments on current events that are making the news. Unfortunately these days, most of the current events are political and/or violent in nature. It seems there just aren't enough general interest or "happy" headlines going around to spark the interest of some of the members.

The solution ? Obviously Bedlam needs it's members to create new topics on subjects that are of interest to more people.

What subjects or topics ? Well, if I knew that, I'd start them myself ! How about a Conspiracy Theory thread, where people could discuss the various conspiracies (JFK, the moon landings, 9/11 and so on) ?

Cartoon appreciation thread (Is Calvin and Hobbes better than Marmaduke, is Doonesbury too political, who is the hottest cartoon wife) ?

The Olympics (does anyone care other than hockey fans ?)

(well, that was an hour wasted, and only 3 mediocre topics to suggest. I need more coffee)
