January 24, 200620 yr Are mobile phone area codes in Thailand allocated to particular companies or are they shared? For example, does (01) belong to AIS, (06) belong to DTAC, etc? If so, which area codes belong to which company? If not, is there any way of finding out which company a particular phone number belongs to? And what about the city where the phone is registered, is there any way of finding out that information?
January 24, 200620 yr This was detailed in a post a while back. Basically it depends on how the number blocks are issued by TOT to AIS and DTAC etc. There is no way to tell the area from the mobile number. Soon there will have to be another shake up of the numbers, with 10 digit numbers being issued, as opposed to the current 9. TOT should have done this years ago, the last time they reorganised the codes.
