More suggestions & advice needed.

Each Christmas after spending time with my wife's family in Nam Rob village, near Lan Sak town, near Uthai Thani, we spend a week or so driving & sight seeing checking out "nice places" where we might eventually settle when we retire in 18 months or so.

After we leave Nam Rob we'll be spending 2 nights in Mae Sot, 2 nights in Loei, 3 nights in Udon Thani & then have a couple of spare nights before returning to Nam Rob. Accommodation doesn't have to be great, the area is what we are looking at. Any suggestions. Last year we visited Tak, Lampang, Uttadarit,Chiang Mai, & Sukhothai. Took 2 weeks.

A bit of background if any ones interested. Wife & I married in BKK in May of 2009 after 18 month courtship. She came to Oz with me 3 weeks later. Had her 2 daughters, teenagers, over last year on 3 month tourist visa & they arrived April of this year permanently. Wife has job & kids in high school. Kids will have the option of remaining here or returning to Thailand with wife & I when we decide to retire in 18 months or so.

Although I'm an old fart I'm still working & intend doing so until at least end of 2013. Any suggestions of where we might check out somewhere between Udon Thani & Uthai Thani ?

Thanks.... Mal.

Drive from lower Nahkon Sawon up to Nong Pai in Petchabun. nice countryside if that floats your boat.

Also, give up the arty fonts, it makes posts annoying to read. thumbsup.gif
