Excellent!

Are you using a 32-bit kernel because of choice, or because of your system?

I love the minimalist distros. Right now, I am running Puppy Linux LxPup Precise Retro 14.02 on my old 32-bit laptop machines-and I couldn't be happier with the results. Everything works!

Long-time Slackware user here.

I've tried to like a few other distros but never found anything that works for me as well as good old Slackware.

If systemd gets its talons into Slack then it'll be one of the BSDs next, probably FreeBSD, hopefully Pat V won't let it come to that though.

Puppy Linux has a Pup based on Slackware. http://puppylinux.org/wikka/Puppy53

Try it, ya might like it!

I've been using systemd for quite some time now as my primary puter runs Arch, but the more I learn about it the less I want it. I am now testing the fsf Debian derivative to be sure I know what my computer is doing. <deleted> the NSA!

ArchBSD might suit your needs.

Systemd is horrible. pulseaudio and avahi are bad enough but systemd takes the cake. Poetterring and his software can take a hike.
