Micro Sim

Featured Replies

May seem like a really dumb question, but I have recently bought a Smartphone overseas which requires a micro SIM card instead of the normal one I have had in my old phone for the last few years. Is it possible to get a micro SIM card with my own number? I am with AIS One to Call prepay, but may look at getting a contract (have visa) after reading this forum tonight

If you are only ever going to need Micro Sim size (and not, for example, going to put it into a different phone that needs the larger size sim), you can cut it yourself using scissors, just be careful cos you only get one shot!

That's exactly what the mobile phone shop did to my old sim card!

I'm with DTAC and you can take your old sim card in to them and they will make you a micro-sim card for free, none of this DIY malarky and all contact numbers etc transferred over too.

AIS will also swap out regular sim for micro sim for you without any problem...

Did the same thing when switching from BB to iPhone

All of the local service providers have retail SIM packaging now with snap-out uSIMs, which can function as a standard SIM or uSIM, after snapping it out.

You could purchase a new one, with a new number, pre-paid or post-paid, or transfer your existing number to either pre-paid or post-paid. I am pretty sure you will have to pay a small fee, ~ 100 baht. If you want to transfer your number you will have to do that in person at an AIS/TWZ shop.
