First look at the new Z1000, info from the Real MotoSports Facebook page.

Below is a quote from their page

"Officially launched by Kawasaki Motor Enterprise (Thailand), Kawasaki Z1000 Model Year 2013 will be delivered to our customers in September. MSRP 591,000 THB"

(only one color available in Thailand)

No word on official specs as yet for the 2013 model, the link takes you directly to their 2012 Z1000 model specs.

Up on last years model MSRP 585,000

not sure why they have those stupid fork protectors.. makes it look like a ER6.....it should have big fat gold USDs, with black /green paint

Um, they ARE inverted forks silly. If you don't like the fork protectors just take them off. Problem solved :)

I didn't particularly like the Z1000 when I first laid eyes on it but after seeing the pics from RealMotor Sports today who just received their new bikes it does spark some interest again.

I like the black Matt finish.

What does the TV world think of the 2013 model??

It has essence of the older model, which was a great bike. But i think this 2013 model looks all wrong.

This is supposed to a mean bike and those colours don't compliment it at all.

Try dressing a Rottweiler up in a Santa outfit and you'll see where I’m coming from...

Hahaha, I wont budge for the z1400...

Multistrada at a lower price, z1000sx,

Superduke, or vfr is also nice...

Who knows, maybe by april we have more options...

Roti in a santa outfit, jow that made me smile but yes agree its too Honda cbr400 looking in color scheme and doesnt have a lseek mean look as you say.

Other than price I still think R1 is one of best looking bikes around.

i would like to know if its restricted ? If yes can it be opened up....

I saw the Z1000 advertised on facebook recently by one of the bike importers and they were asking 690,000 but they said it was the USA unrestricted version and not the restricted Japanese version that Kawasaki sell here. Not sure it's worth another 100k!

Still got the goofy exhaust system. blink.png

Yeh, it's screaming for some urban brawlers and a nice paint scheme with a few Rizoma bits thrown on thumbsup.gif

Mityon up on Sukhumvit Rd had 3 in there today. Man they are cool looking beasties! Coming down to earth what I found just as appealing was the matt black Er6n with gold aftermarket rims. No mirrors fitted but it would look real good with a pair of those gold coloured compact mirrors I see in the accessories shops.

the exhaust on the z1000 is one of the better looking stock exhausts IMO

i think it matches the design and lines of the bike pretty well

although for decent sounds you would need to get a proper pipe

theyre not cheap for the z1000 either:D

one of my neighbours paid over 50k for an aftermarket pipe ,possibly a termignioni

but not 100% on brand of it

No reason to change the pipe. You are not going to notice any gain unless you are a profesional. It already has huge power. I am going to buy these urban brawlers for around 7500baht which is cheaper the most big bike slip on and i think the look great!
