Road safety App launched

BANGKOK, 25 September 2012: New applications that monitor road safety will be introduced that will encourage residents and commuters to report road accidents.

Developed by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (NECTEC), the Traffy bSafe application has many features that the centre says could help to reduce accidents. Commuters will be able to report traffic situations as well as dangerous driving behavior through the application.

The Traffy bSafe allows commuters to check the speed of public transport, real-time, allowing them to report dangerous driving behavior as it happens and help to provide documentation for officials to take action against the driver or to file a complaints against the company.

Users can also send SOS messages in the case of an emergency that provide an accurate location finder using GPS.

It also has phone numbers for emergency calls such as ambulance, fire department, police, National Disaster Warning Centre as well as tourism related numbers such as the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the ministry’s tourist centres.

The application is now available for free on iOS and Android mobile system via App Store and Google Play (Search Traffy bSafe application). The soft launch early August gained a positive response with users giving it four to five -star ratings.

For further information contact, NECTEC call centre 662 524 9200 ext. 3 or view the application’s video
